Dean’s Residence
Dean's Residence
Yale Berkeley Divinity School
New Haven, Connecticut
When the new dean and his family moved into their residence at the Divinity School they quickly realized that a number of changes would need to be made. The first item on their list was the addition of a small kitchen and dining room on the second floor. The family needed an intimate space to come together in the evenings. The kitchen and dining room was completed in early 2005. Subsequently, a second story 600 square foot floating deck was constructed primarily to allow the dean to host large school related functions. In 2007 access to the building was re-configured to conform to ADA standards and an enclosed porch was re-built into a student activity center.
The first phase of the project was published in the June 9th, 2005 issue of The New York Times.
